Portfolios have come a long way since the Trapper Keeper.

This online portfolio contains a few examples of my experience designing and developing performance-improvement solutions. All of the examples are training and instructional solutions, even though instruction or training is only one aspect of improving performance.

Please use the links on the right to view some of my experiences in either instructional design or performance improvement. My resume is also available to view using Acrobat Reader.

Instructional Theory

For solutions that require training or instruction, I apply an instructional theory that is designed to be flexible for all instructional situations. My theory focuses on 4 main instructional methods: gaining the learner's attention, presenting information, providing relevant practice materials, and providing timely feedback. While I acknowledge that there are still situations in which traditional lectures are valuable for learning, I believe that it is important to get the learners involved as much as possible in every instructional setting. This way, the learning is more personal and long-lasting.

While I believe that all instructional theories are constantly evolving, feel free to view my current theory using the link on the right. I will update my theory as learners, instructors and learning environments continue to change.
